College and couture highlight Global Fashion class trip to NYC

College, couture and a good measure of shopping were highlights of a recent Global Fashion Studies trip to Manhattan. The class toured and viewed admissions presentations at Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) and LIM (Laboratory Institute of Merchandising) College, respected schools that are on the radar of several students. Undeterred by the city's famously frigid winter wind, the class walked through the Garment District and along Canal Street, enjoyed ethnic fare for lunch, and visited a range of shops from British fashion retailer Top Shop in SoHo to discount store Daffy's in Herald Square. Dinner was a touchdown at the ESPN Zone overlooking Times Square.
